Right now, in our Health and Safety Team, we are looking fora Risk Advisor to cover Support Centre, Printcraft and our Warehouses. You will be joining a team who work hard to deliver a safe place to work and shop for our colleagues and customers. In this role, you will get to influence changes that improve the ways of working for colleagues across the business... that's over 7000 colleagues! 

Role Responsibility

• Provides competent H&S advice to colleagues, other departments and Group Companies relating to area of specialism;
• Ensures all employees are suitably trained on equipment and machinery and are aware of their responsibilities in delivering safe places to work and shop;
• Carries out inspections on equipment in the Distribution Centre and Printcraft;
• Completes accident investigations and follows up on near misses and incidents;
• Monitors data and identifies trends providing additional support and coaching where necessary;
• Maintains legal compliance documentation (i.e. Accidents, LOLER);
• New Store/Building plans reviewed re. H&S;
• Advises on H&S issues relating to new stores and company premises;
• Supports the development of policies and procedures working with the Head of Group Health & Safety;
• Works alongside the Property Department ensuring that H&S maintenance issues are rectified.

The Ideal Candidate

• Understands and is experienced in Retail, DC and Manufacturing Operations;
• NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health;
• Pays attention to detail and can communicate complicated issues simply;
• Manages time and own agenda effectively;
• Trustworthy and approachable.

This role may involve out of hours and weekend working to support the business needs and the ideal candidate will hold a full clean driving license as travel between group sites will be required.
