Senior Digital Designer (Maternity Contract Cover)

The Senior Digital Designer is responsible for the look and feel of all digital touchpoints and for bringing the brand to life through the creation of distinctive and inspiring digital assets across all channels.

This position is remote working with occasional travel to the Card Factory office in Wakefield.

This is a fixed-term contract until 31st August 2022 covering maternity leave.

Role Responsibility

  • Take the creative lead for the brand, working with the Commercial Director to evolve the Brand Guidelines and ensure they are applied consistently across all visuals
  • Create design concepts and mood boards to support key gifting events, product categories and marketing campaigns, then translate these into impactful designs
  • Take ownership for end-to-end design from concept to final delivery, including front end development
  • Proactively develop innovative and disruptive ideas for advertising or promotional campaigns
  • Design and build impactful emails as briefed by the Email/CRM Manager
  • Design and create website landing pages and banners as briefed by the Web Merchandiser
  • Create memorable digital assets for use in social media and display advertising, including video and animated GIFs, as briefed by the Social/PR Manager
  • Coach and develop a Junior Digital Designer, overseeing all digital design output and prioritising daily workflow to ensure deadlines are met
  • Input into UI and UX design to drive conversion rate improvement
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of web design trends and technologies

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Strong HTML and CSS skills;
  • Good level of SEO knowledge and Wire-framing;
  • Knowledge of responsive web design and UX methodologies;
  • Good team working with the ability to manage your workload and meeting deadlines and targets;
  • Pro-active & organised with strong attention to detail;
  • Be a self-starter, able to pro-actively generate simple solutions to complex problems;
  • Be passionate about good design and continuously learn new techniques;
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects;
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
