Account Manager

Job Introduction

Due to exciting growth plans, cardfactory are recruiting for an Account Manager to work across wholesale, franchise and consignment accounts.  Owing the commercial relationship between cardfactory, the customer (external retail partner) and internal stakeholders, you will play a key role in defining commercial strategy plans to support our delivery goals.

You will develop the budgets and own the end to end P+L for your accounts, making strategic and tactical decisions to drive both short term and long term improved performance for both parties.

By developing strategic account plans and using your significant influencing skills you will drive the growth of the cardfactory brand and products within your accounts, developing new routes to market and expanding product ranges within your partners.   

You will deliver this by developing strong working relationships with internal stakeholders including cardfactory Commercial, Marketing and Finance teams to deliver performance in line with cardfactory budget requirements.

The successful candidate will be highly analytical, experienced in operating account P&Ls through interpreting multiple sets of data to deliver insight and results to both the customer and cardfactory.

At cardfactory, we operate a smart working policy, allowing you to work from home some days and at our Head Office in Wakefield 2/3 days a week in line with business needs.

Role Responsibility

  • Own the cardfactory P&L for your accounts, working closely with your finance business partner ensuring all decisions are in line with budget requirements.
  • Develop partner trade activity activities and where required work in conjunction with cardfactory critical path timelines.
  • In conjunction with the customer, analyse and report on the weekly / monthly performance to all internal and external stakeholders to drive increased sales, determine operational effectiveness and identify new opportunities.
  • In conjunction with the partner, identify category strengths and weaknesses in the retail landscape and recommend action plans, covering a wide breadth of issues including product mix, merchandising and promotions to take advantage of these opportunities. 
  • Conduct quarterly in depth category reviews with the customer, reviewing all aspects of performance and developing joint business plans
  • Be the key expert in the requirements of your markets and customers, ensure that wider cardfactory team is clear on your customer needs
  • Work with wider partnerships team to ensure cardfactory is delivering its contractual obligations and KPI’s. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working in a retail Account Management environment with a good understanding of end-to-end processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong understanding of financial P&L Account modelling and budget ownership.
  • Critical thinking, managing accounts ensuring cardfactory goals are achieved whilst balancing ongoing partner relationships i.e. ‘win-win’.
  • Ideally experience working in a fast paced commercial retail operation with an understanding of product critical path.
  • Awareness of supply chain processes.
  • Negotiation Skills
