Accounts Assistant – Treasury

Role Responsibility
The core objective of the role is to ensure accurate and timely posting of transactions for the Card Factory cash books.
You’ll monitor activity on a daily basis and raise any queries with the relevant bank or department.
Working with our Loss Prevention and Sales Administration teams you’ll provide support with banking queries and potential losses.
You’ll raise bank payments as well as managing requests for company credit card users.
You will get involved in the month end processes, ensuring all deadlines are met and reconciliations are completed
The role will also support day to day accounting process and controls.
This role will be based at our Head Office just outside Wakefield with scope for agile and remote working in line with our Smart Working principles.
- Accurate and prompt posting of the cash book transactions
- Weekly bank reconciliations
- Ensure all month end deadlines are met
- Report suspected losses, Manage discrepancies on any credit card payments
- Provide any support/assistance required to the Loss Prevention team, particularly around BQD differences
- Raise bank line/cheque payments as required
- Manage requests for company credit card users
- Maintain the Support Centre petty cash and associated records
- Reconcile the change reconciliation for UK stores
- Maintain a full list of all stores and their banking facilities
- Provide cover for the sales administration team as required
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience of working in a treasury role or similar
- Good level of computer literacy - Microsoft Excel and Outlook are essential
- Organised and able to use own initiative
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
Desirable
- SAP experience
- Qualified or studying towards a Finance qualification e.g. ACCA, CIMA or AAT
