Accounts Payable Manager

We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Payable Manager to join our Finance team! In this role, you'll oversee 2 AP team leaders, leading the Accounts Payable UK & ROI team to ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers and efficient processing of colleague expenses.
Your key responsibilities will include driving continuous improvement, streamlining processes through automation, and strengthening controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness. Success in this role also depends on effective collaboration with key stakeholders, including buyers, merchandise planners, suppliers, and the treasury team.
We're looking for a candidate who is collaborative, motivating, and goal-oriented, with a strong focus on innovation and improvement. Based at Junction 41 in Wakefield, with free parking and a flexible, hybrid way of working, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in our team. Colleagues are required to work in the office for a minimum of 1-2 days per week, with the expectation of additional attendance when needed.
Role Responsibility
- Leads the development of a Team Leader and direct reports, and managing resourcing and succession
- Continually develops, automates, and improves processes
- Resolves queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Creation and monitoring of creditor reporting, KPI’s and SLA’s
- Ensures the timely and accurate processing and payment of supplier invoices and staff expenses
- Builds and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders, with the ability to flex style to suit audience
- Develops and strengthens policies and procedures, ensuring controls and policies are adhered to with key processes documented
- Ensure clear SMART objectives are in place that are part of 121’s and reviews
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience in leading AP teams, especially through periods of significant change
- Strong IT and analytical skills; ability to interpret and present data
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to flex style to suit audience
- Demonstrable record of process improvement and development of others
- Personable, engaging, highly motivated, resilient, organised, and able to manage differing (sometimes competing) priorities
