Job Introduction

A superb role within the Business Development function with cardfactory, market leader in Cards and Giftware.

Since our launch in 1997, cardfactory has become the fastest growing greetings card retailer in the UK and one of the leading lights of the industry. We sell a wide selection of cards, as well as gifts, gift bags and decorative wrapping materials. When it comes to special occasions, whatever the need, we’ve got it wrapped up!

We are now looking to strengthen our existing Business Development team and are recruiting for a Demand Planner.

This is a crucial role in ensuring we have the right stock in the right place at the right time to hit our availability KPIs. To be responsible for the allocations, replenishment, processing and delivery of stock outbound to our customers whilst continuing to drive new ways of working and adapting new processes both internally and externally. Analysing data, utilising the replenishment model to its potential and ensuring all partnerships have the optimum level of on shelf availability are key measures for this role.

Role Responsibility

  • Have ownership of stock at sku/store level.
  • Deliver store/sku forecast accuracy improvements that can influence, delivering significant YOY improvement
  • Forecast future sales demand at store level capture seasonal events, promotional activity and markdown to maximise availability in store.
  • Ensure new store stock build plans are achieved in agreed timeframes
  • Ensure on time delivery of new range launches.
  • Update systems with stock count data and provide Stock Take Reports.
  • Respond to third party stock, delivery and invoice queries. Deal with inaccuracies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Reporting to the Inventory management analyst to ensure on shelf availability is maintained to support sales.
  • Internal & External OPO Management.
  • Liaising with suppliers & Stock Control to ensure on time order fulfilment.
  • External International bookings & full documentation including Customs Declarations of deliveries for third parties.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Good knowledge/experience of Supply Chain and Stock Management principles/processes
  • Good knowledge of Excel, Relex similar replenishment systems
  • Good communications skills at all levels
  • Experience in Supply Chain / Store Stock Management / Logistics / Operations
  • Demonstrable drive & commitment and willingness to learn and adapt
  • Good levels of planning, organisational skills and the ability to multi task
  • Experience working in a retail environment is advantageous, but not essential

This role may involve out of hours and weekend working to support the business needs and the ideal candidate will hold a full clean driving license as travel between group sites will be required. The majority of the role will be hybrid with 1-2 days working from our Wakefield head office.
