Job Introduction

We do this by understanding our customers, the market and keeping up to date with new and emerging trends. We then translate this knowledge into new product innovation.

As a design manager you will help to lead our in-house design team (along with the other design managers in the team) to develop and deliver high quality, innovative greeting card designs. You will be responsible for managing design projects end to end, delivering strong, balanced, and commercial ranges. You will need to utilise studio resource effectively to ensure critical path dates are met.

Role Responsibility

• Leading and managing a team to deliver high quality, balanced and commercial greeting card ranges for sale in store or online
• Developing and delivering coherent product range strategies
• Supporting the team throughout the assigned projects
• Managing resource effectively to ensure all critical path dates are met
• Communicating well within the studio teams and with the wider business
• Constantly looking at innovative ways to improve our offering through product development, market research, comp shopping, and keeping up to date with new and emerging trends
• Understanding sales data to influence product development
• Directly line managing a small team of up to 6. You will support with their objectives, personal development, and day-to-day needs

The Ideal Candidate

• A commercial mindset with a good understanding of the greeting card market
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent time management and organisational skills with an ability to multi-task
• Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Adaptable to change
• Line management experience
• Knowledge of Mac OS and Microsoft Office suite
• Experience of working within the greeting card industry preferred
