Design Manager – 12 month fixed term contract – cardfactory, Wakefield
Hours: Full time and Part time options considered
Hybrid working: 2 days onsite 3 at home + free parking
In this exciting role, you’ll take the lead in managing the end-to-end creative project process — from concept to launch. You’ll oversee timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure every collection lands on brief, on time, and with impact.
You’ll also lead and nurture a team of up to six designers and assistant design managers, supporting their professional development, setting clear objectives, and providing pastoral guidance. Your focus will be on helping each team member grow and perform at their best, while fostering a collaborative, creative, and high-performing culture.
You’ll be the central point of coordination between design, supporting studio functions, buying and wider commercial teams, ensuring communication flows seamlessly and everyone stays aligned on goals and deadlines. You’ll bring structure to creativity — balancing bold ideas with practical planning, and translating market, competitor, and trend insights into commercially relevant product ranges. By combining creative direction with strong project management, you’ll help deliver collections that not only inspire but perform — keeping our brand ahead of the curve and our customers coming back for more.
