Export Manager

Job Introduction

Due to exciting international expansion plans, cardfactory is now looking for an Export Manager to join the Business Development team to lead on commercial aspects of Export Compliance and shipping. 

Working cross functionally with Partnerships, Supply Chain, Finance/Tax, QC and Data Governance teams, this role will ensure outbound shipments are compliant with local market import regulations. Ensuring goods shipped through carrier networks are tracked and shipped, you will create a suite of reports to ensure Partner SLA’s are achieved and Account Managers/Merchandise Manager are kept informed. As Export manager it will be your responsibility to lead in the scoping and delivery of logistical routes and carriers for UK/ International current and future markets

At cardfactory, we operate a smart working policy, allowing you to work from home some days and at our Head Office in Wakefield 2/3 days a week in line with business needs.

Role Responsibility

  • Ensure all outbound shipments are export compliant with local market regulations including (but not exclusive to): USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand & India) customs regulations.
  • Ensure all shipping documentation is accurate and on time, issuing to business partners, shipping agents and internal CardFactory teams.
  • Identify the best Supply Chain routes to market balancing cost, speed, reliability and visibility.
  • Work with internal CardFactory stakeholders to ensure all product master data is accurate (weight, dimensions, commodity codes, lead times)
  • Lead global export shipping tenders from quote stage to final delivery
  • Create & issue monthly reports for export compliance, measuring Partner SLA’s (delivery on time, in full & accuracy)
  • Support on wider business initiatives to improve CardFactory Supply Chain operations
  • Work with CardFactory Supply Chain team to define process e.g. Cross Docking, containerisation, 3PL

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Knowledge of export/import requirements for shipping goods to international markets e.g. USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand & India
  •  Knowledge of Supply Chain processes, internal and external (Warehousing, carrier networks, shipping etc)
  • Awareness of the role QC has in exporting/importing of products
  • Experience in establishing and defining export processes and reporting in a similar role/function
  • Ideally, a background in a retail supply chain role
  • SAP S4 Hana experienced preferred but not essential
