Greetings Card Designer
Job Introduction
Great opportunity for a Designer to join the studio team at Card Factory - a fast-paced and creative environment where you get to see your ideas come to life! The studio is friendly, fun and full of exciting challenges that will help you develop your skills. Our managers encourage teams to get out and see what’s happening in the wide world of retail, where they can find new ideas and inspiration. Development days/sessions are encouraged, so the team can learn from each other as well as new trends in the market.
This position is based at Junction 41 in Wakefield, with free parking. We tend to mix working from home with time in the studio as required. A typical week could see you being in for 2-3 days, other weeks you may work remotely all week if you wish, we just ask for flexibility.
Previous experience working as a Greetings card designer is essential for this role.
Role Responsibility
- Producing new artworks into commercial designs and style guides for use on greetings cards
- Creatively formatting existing artworks into commercial products
- Accurately preparing files ready for print
- Creating customisable designs for use online
- Creative research and development for upcoming ranges and trends
- Opportunity to work across category on 3D gifting, wrap and party products when needed.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous relevant experience working as a Greetings card designer is essential
- Thorough understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, esp. Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Versatile design skillset
- Strong typesetting skills
- Knowledge of print limitations and experience of using finishes
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- Plenty of enthusiasm for creativity and design
