Printcraft is part of Card Factory plc, a specialist card retailer with over 1000 stores nationwide. Printcraft manufacture all the groups UK manufactured greetings cards, wrap and POS for stores. It is a forward thinking business with state of the art equipment operating a large site 24/7, we produce around a quarter of a billion items per annum.

Right now, we have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and innovative individual to join our team; we are now recruiting for an Operations Director, reporting directly into the Managing Director located at our fast-paced production site in Baildon.
Role Responsibility
This is a very autonomous role and the successful candidate will run the business on a day-to-day basis, including ultimate responsibility for personnel, machinery and maintenance, health and safety, quality the manufacturing site and the planning and delivery of products measured against KPIs.
Key duties will be
- Establish and develop a safety focused culture, ensuring compliance in all areas;
- Lead, motivate, inspire and develop our manufacturing teams;
- Ensure right first time at every stage of the manufacturing process, not compromising upon quality;
- Identify and implement continuous process improvements to optimize production efficiencies, ensuring high quality components are produced with minimum waste;
- Deliver on the operational KPIs for the site whilst simultaneously further developing a culture of continuous improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be practical minded, versatile and adaptable as you will get involved with all aspects of the business. Flexibility and a can do attitude is essential due to the operation working 24/7, particularly around our key seasonal events. You will also;
- Be able to meet tight deadlines and specific KPIs;
- Have experience running a medium size organisation at operational level;
- be ambitious, innovative and push development for positive change;
- Have excellent communication skills;
- Have knowledge of Health and Safety;
- Have experience with budgeting process/management.
About the Company
This role may involve out of hours and weekend working to support the business needs and the ideal candidate will hold a full clean driving license as travel between group sites will be required.
