Job Introduction

We are recruiting for a HR Business Partner – Retail, to join the team at Card Factory on a 6 month fixed term contract.  In this role you will support leaders in Retail to build and execute their strategically aligned people plans, whilst driving a culture of high performance and engagement.

Key areas of focus

Partnering with one of the Heads of Retail and their Regional Management team in a strategic capacity, with a focus on:

• Talent Management
• Organisational Design
• Performance Management
• Colleague engagement
• Development of leadership capability

Role Responsibility

Our HRBP team bring insight to the challenges and opportunities of our business, embedding themselves in their regional team in order to challenge thinking around culture, capacity and capability to deliver results now and in the future by:

• Driving performance management culture and conversations
• Supporting leaders to address build colleague engagement
• Consulting on talent management and succession planning
• Collaborating with the People Team, sharing business insights and adding value as ‘one team’

The role also has accountability for complex employee relations cases in the region, managing any restructures and consultations, settlement situations and Employment Tribunal cases on the region. In addition the role supports the ER team with managing any complex disciplinary or grievance cases, and ensuring compliance with legislation, policy and process across the region.

There is also a focus on embedding our engagement survey – supporting leader to interpret their data and action plan, managing projects within your area of expertise, working cross functionally to deliver results.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience of HR partnering in a retail environment essential
• Evidence of strong relationship building, coaching and collaboration skills (coaching qualification - level 5 desirable)
• Switched on commercially being curious to fully understand ways of working, process and issues
• Data driven approach to inform and drive decision-making
• Ability to bring credible challenge and influence
• Ability to work at pace through a high volume of work, balancing immediate requests and project work
• Up to date knowledge of employment law
